This coincided with the announcement by “Ansar Allah” that it had carried out a large military operation in the Saudi rear.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia has led the Arab coalition, which has been waging intense military operations in Yemen in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government loyal to President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, which has been fighting the Iranian-backed Houthi forces who have controlled the capital, Sanaa, since 2014.
The military conflict has recently witnessed a sharp escalation, as the Houthis launched a massive operation to control the Marib Governorate against government forces, which the Arab coalition supports with air strikes.
Against the background of this new episode of confrontation between the two sides, the Houthis intensified their attacks with drones and ballistic missiles on targets in Saudi Arabia that it says are military, while the Kingdom accuses the group of targeting civilian sites.
