Al-Nassr Saudi Arabia and its Portuguese captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, are competing in a Saudi confrontation against Al-Fayhaa in the draw for the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League, which was drawn – today, Thursday – in Kuala Lumpur.
Al-Nasr has always participated in the most important continental competition, while Al-Fayhaa is participating in its first participation this season. Al-Nasr defeated Al-Faihaa itself in the last home in the Saudi League 3-1 on October 28 last.
Al-Nasr topped the fifth group in the group stage, 6 points behind Persepolis of Iran and 7 points behind Al-Duhail of Qatar, while Al-Faiha qualified as one of 3 clubs that took second place in the five groups after finishing runner-up in the first group, 6 points behind Al-Ain of the Emirates, which in turn faces Nasaf of Uzbekistan.
On the other hand, Al Hilal Saudi Arabia, winner of the tournament title four times, will meet Iranian Sepahan, runner-up in the 2007 edition.
As for the Saudi club Al-Ittihad, which won the championship title twice in a row in 2004 and 2005, it will face Uzbekistan’s Navbakhor.
