The English Football Association announced that England defender Kieran Trippier and Atletico Madrid will be suspended for 10 weeks and fined 70,000 pounds for violating betting regulations.
On Wednesday, the Football Association issued an official statement regarding the conviction of Atletico Madrid right back Kieran Trippier for breaching betting rules.
The Football Association confirmed that Trippier leaked information in 2019 about his departure from the ranks of Tottenham Hotspur to Atlético de Madrid, which contributed to the achievement of some bettors for profits.
Trippier, 30, denied seven violations of the FA betting regulations, which were said to have occurred in July 2018, but four of them were proven during the personal hearing.
The suspension will be in effect worldwide and in all tournaments, starting December 23 after the submission to FIFA.
Trippier faces a 10-week suspension and a fine of 70,000 pounds, for the player to definitely miss the Atletico Madrid match against Chelsea in the first leg of the 16th round of the Champions League, but the player refused the accusation and requested a hearing.
