Two months after his transfer to Memphis and subsequent contract termination, Marc Gasol’s sporting future remains a mystery. And it will not be for not having received various offers from both sides of the pond.
He himself acknowledged a week ago that he had not made a final decision because there are many options on the horizon: continue in the NBA, compete in the European elite, opt for a quieter route in Girona or close his professional career. This Tuesday, in addition, a new suitor has burst in with force.
During a press conference, Juan Carlos Navarro, former player and current general manager of Barcelona’s basketball section, admitted having established conversations with the Spanish interior.
“They are only conversations and there is no negotiation,” said the manager. «Although he has not given any refusal. He knows of our interest and he has the last word. I will not deny that I would like to have him. “
If confirmed, Marc would follow in the footsteps of his brother Pau, who defended the Barça club’s shirt last year before retiring after the conclusion of the Tokyo Olympics. For now, Gasol is still training privately and enjoying time off with his family.
