Without realizing it, there are only three weeks left for the NBA franchises to start training camp prior to the 2021-22 academic year. During this preseason, squads can have up to twenty contracts between those who are guaranteed and those who are not. And, although some have done their homework a long time ago, there are still some laggards. This is the case of the Portland Trail Blazers, whose latest news points to the interest shown in Michael Beasley, James Ennis, Isaiah Hartenstein and Patrick Patterson. Informs Michael Scotto saves HoopsHype.
Beasley has already played the last Summer League in Las Vegas with the Oregon team, so the franchise may have more references on its current status. The one who was number 2 in the 2008 draft has not played a game in the NBA since February 2019, before giving up his presence with the Lakers in the Orlando bubble. James Ennis is coming off a successful season in Orlando and seems the most viable option to expand the wardrobe.
As for Patrick Patterson, the veteran power forward continues to wait for an opportunity in free agency as he flirts with the European market and this could be one of his last opportunities before the start of the season. The Blazers aren’t the only team interested in Isaiah Hartenstein, as the Los Angeles Clippers have taken notice of him, too. His strange case for having given up his player option with the Cavaliers last July, since, in cases like this, it is normal to have some sponsored interviews.
