The Buffettologist’s guide to finding winning shares: Manager who brought Buffett-style investing to the UK, on the Investing Show
Warren Buffett is the world’s most famous investor and he didn’t get there without knowing a thing or two about buying good companies.
So what would happen if you applied his school of investing to a UK investment fund?
That’s what the CFL SDL UK Buffettology fund has done and manager Keith Ashworth-Lord has made the approach deliver for its investors. Over the past five years, the fund is up 148 per cent compared to the UK All Companies average of 69 per cent.
It holds only about 30 different companies, but has managed to beat the market every year but one in five.
Keith says: ‘There are very few great businesses around and when you’ve found one make it work. Invest heavily in it.’
So what’s Buffettology about, how do you find these good companies and what are ways to identify the right ingredients for the secret sauce.
Keith joins Simon Lambert, of This is Money, and Richard Hunter, of Wilson King IM, on the Investing Show to tell us more.
