The Chicago Bulls have been optimistic about the possible return to the courts of Zach LaVine during the next week. His coach Billy Donovan has acknowledged that the shooting guard is responding very well to the treatment he is undergoing for his injured left knee, reported the Chicago Tribune.
LaVine was injured on January 14 early in the game against the Golden State Warriors. Since then the Bulls have lost in four of the last five days they have played, and against direct rivals like the Boston Celtics or this past morning against Giannis Atentokounmpo’s Bucks.
In the current regular season he has played 38 official games (all as a starter) with averages of 24.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.2 rebounds in 34 minutes per game.
With their recent defeat, Billy Donovan’s men fall to second place in the East (28-16) behind the now new leaders Brooklyn Nets (29-16).
