Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today, Thursday, called on Canadians to remain united as a country and see the bright side in a year of chaos due to the Corona pandemic, noting that the announced vaccines represent the end of the pandemic.
In his statement released Thursday, on the eve of the “Christmas” celebration, Trudeau acknowledged that the holiday season was unique in Canadian history and that many people across the country would experience a completely different experience than in previous years, with fewer family gatherings. “This time of year should be full of joy and family tradition,” Trudeau said. “But this Christmas is different.”
The ruling Liberal leader’s letter came a day after the Moderna vaccine was approved for use in Canada. “This crisis will end, and as a country we will emerge from it stronger and more united,” he said.
Trudeau revealed that the first shipments of Canada’s order of 40 million doses of Moderna vaccine will arrive in the coming days. He said Canada was also preparing to receive a quarter of a million additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
