Yogi Ferrell’s adventure in the Los Angeles Clippers is coming to an end. The point guard, who enjoyed the past course of two 10-day contracts before being signed for the rest of the season, now sees how the Californians decide to cut him before his salary (1.9 million dollars) is guaranteed; informs Shams Charania of The Athletic.
At 28, Ferrell must now look for a new team in the NBA or choose to make the jump to another league. The 2020-21 season was tough for him, as between the Detroit Pistons and Clippers he played only 10 games for an average of 5.6 points and 2.2 assists in 13.3 minutes. Does it still have a place in the American competition? It remains to be seen. Last summer and there were European teams interested in his services.
Regarding the Clippers, they are left with 14 guaranteed contracts for the moment, so they have a gap to fill (if they wish) three weeks before the start of the training camp. They still have to decide what to do with Amir Coffey and if they make use of their second dual contract, for now without an owner.
