The Veterinary Department in the Czech Republic said that it had detected an outbreak of the “H5N8” virus that causes bird flu in a small farm in the south of the country, killing about half of its birds.
The administration stated that the infection was recorded on a farm 99 km south of the capital Prague, and it is possible that it was transmitted through wild ducks in a nearby pond.
The veterinary authorities in the Czech Republic announced a year ago, specifically, that bird flu had reappeared in the country 3 years after the last outbreak.
