A university student, believed to be the first British person to be infected with the emerging coronavirus and recover from it, died in 2019, as he was found dead in his university room as a result of drug poisoning, according to the forensic report.
The British newspaper “Daily Post” reported that Connor Ellis, 26, was found dead in his bedroom at his residence at Bangor University in Wales in October 2020, after his colleagues reported his disappearance.
The newspaper quoted the chief forensic doctor in northwest Wales, after an autopsy, that the cause of death was due to respiratory failure resulting from poisoning with a medicinal mixture.
Connor made headlines last year after he became the first Briton to contract the virus while working at a school in Wuhan in November 2019 before recovering from the virus.
He was famous for his diaries of the virus and his talk of the symptoms he suffered during his three and a half weeks of infection.
