Heavy snow and high winds in several parts of Iran during the past few days have blocked many roads and disrupted transportation.
And state television quoted the head of the Iranian Mountaineering Federation, Reza Zarei, as announcing that the bodies of two climbers had been found on Sunday, raising the death toll to 12 after heavy snowfall.
Iranian TV quoted Zarei as saying, “The rescue operation is now complete and all those missing have been found.”
Meanwhile, the television said on its website that the maritime authorities are searching for six Iranians and one Indian who are the crew of an Iranian transport ship that capsized near the Strait of Hormuz at the entrance to the Gulf on Friday.
“Seven groups of four people are searching, but due to unfavorable weather conditions, it is not possible to search by air now,” the television quoted Ismail Makizadeh, deputy head of the Ports and Maritime Organization in the region, as saying.
