The press office of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced today, Tuesday, that the defense ministers of Belarus, Viktor Khrenin, and his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu, held telephone talks during which they discussed joint measures to ensure the military security of the Union State (Russia, Belarus).
A statement by the Belarusian Defense Ministry – reported by the Russian (Sputnik) news agency – stated that “telephone talks were held between Belarusian Defense Minister Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin and his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu, in which the defense ministers discussed urgent issues of Belarusian-Russian cooperation.”
He added, “The two parties discussed joint measures to ensure the military security of the Union state, preparations for joint operational and combat training operations planned for next year, and activities dedicated to commemorating the fallen Soviet soldiers, as part of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.”
