In response to the title of the report, Ali Gomaa, the former Grand Mufti of Egypt, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars, and head of the Religious Affairs and Endowments Committee in the Egyptian House of Representatives said: “Love is not forbidden in any case, but it is not permissible to confuse this sublime meaning. And between what is going on between the sexes of the forbidden relationship, and submitting to the cause of lust and gasping, behind the pleasure of the body in the forbidden, under the pretext of love, pointing out that “in this is an injustice of this honorable meaning, upon which the heavens and the earth were established.”
A member of the Council of Senior Scholars pointed out that “God Almighty has made marriage the door of permissibility in the relationship and love between the sexes,” considering that “whoever is afflicted with something of that, let him conceal it, even if he cannot marry the one he loves.”
The head of the Religious Affairs and Endowments Committee in the House of Representatives added, “Love is a noble meaning that Islam brought and called for.”
Ali Jumaa also clarified that “a Muslim loves all God Almighty creation, sees beauty wherever it is, and works to spread love wherever it goes,” noting that “a Muslim is a mercy for people, is kind to them and is kind to them and wishes goodness for them.”
