The Ministry of Endowments indicated, in a statement, that Tarawih prayers will be held with precautionary controls against the Corona virus, and said: “With the permission of God Almighty, the Qiyaam prayer will be held in Ramadan, in accordance with the precautionary controls in the mosques where Friday prayers are held.”
She added: “Tarawih prayers are held while adhering to all the controls and precautionary measures and taking into account the distances involved … God Almighty will perform the qiyaam prayer in Ramadan in the mosques that are held on Friday, and that is for prayer only, without allowing any breakfast tables, or holding an i’tikaaf. Permitting the opening of shrines, toilets, or event homes, taking into account all existing controls, adhering to all precautionary and preventive measures, and intensifying continuous cleaning and sterilization operations.
She added, explaining: “With our assertion that there is absolutely no blame on the one who prays Taraweeh in his home, rather it is desirable in the circumstances in which we are in, in order to contribute to achieving social distancing and reducing meeting times in one place, asking God Almighty to inform us of Ramadan with goodness. And to hasten to lift the calamity from the country and the people, and on our dear Egypt and the rest of the worlds. “
