The Egyptian Football Association announced that it had lodged a protest with the organizing committee of the North African Championship that qualified for the African Nations Youth Finals, due to the failure to adopt the “Pharaohs” list in front of the Tunisian national team, the Carthage Eagles.
The official statement of the Egyptian Federation stated: “Dr. Gamal Mohamed Ali, head of the delegation of the national youth team presently in Tunisia to participate in the North African Championship qualifying for the African Nations Youth Finals, protested to the organizing committee of the tournament for not adopting the team’s list for its match against Tunisia, which was supposed to be held today. “In light of the conflicting results of the swabs conducted for a number of the team’s players, calling for a replay of the match. At the same time, Walid Al-Attar, Executive Director of the Federation, sent a similar protest in the name of the Egyptian Football Association to the African Confederation, requesting a replay of the match for the same reasons.”
