The Media Center of the Egyptian Cabinet said, “Some social media pages have circulated a video regarding imposing a ban on the movement of citizens in all governorates at the level of the republic as of Wednesday, December 30, 2020, and the Council of Ministers denied these reports, stressing that no decisions have been issued in this regard.” .
The center explained that the video circulating is old, and dates back to the period of the first wave of the Corona virus, stressing that the decisions taken by the Corona Crisis Management Committee during its last meeting do not include imposing a curfew.
The center stated that those decisions “included a number of measures to limit the spread of the virus and preserve public health, most notably the obligation to all citizens to wear protective masks, while applying an immediate fine to violators, as well as stopping any activities, celebrations or festivals during the coming period,” noting Noting that “in the event that any new decisions are taken, they will be officially announced.”
