© Reuters. The EIB will lend 57.5 million to Prosegur until 2023 for digitization
Brussels, Oct 28 (.) .- The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a loan of 57.5 million euros to the Spanish security company Prosegur (MC 🙂 to finance until 2023 investments in innovation, digital transformation and sustainability, as reported by the European Union bank in a statement.
The financing will be used specifically to develop Prosegur’s GenzAI platform, which seeks to generate services based on technologies such as artificial intelligence, process automation, the internet of things or “blockchain”.
These new services will then be applied in the fields of security in companies and homes, cybersecurity, cash management or process outsourcing.
Prosegur’s investment plan includes the implementation of sustainable solutions to improve the energy efficiency of its facilities and the agreement with the EIB will also promote collaboration with emerging companies (start-ups), which Proseguir will invite to participate in its program of innovation.
The general director of Prosegur, Javier Cabrerizo, highlighted in a statement the importance for the company of the EIB’s support for innovation and transformation projects with which they want to stay “at the forefront” of their sector.
“At the EIB we are very proud to support the innovative nature of Prosegur, a leading company in the security sector at a global level. We need to invest in the main European capabilities,” said EIB Vice President Ricardo Mourinho Félix.
The security group Prosegur, which is listed on the Spanish stock exchange, had a turnover of 3,463 million euros in 2020 and has more than 150,000 employees, according to data provided by the EIB.
