The Amiri Diwan said, in a statement, that during the meeting held at Lusail Palace on Wednesday evening, “consultation and exchange of views took place on advancing regional and international diplomatic efforts to demand an immediate ceasefire and the protection of civilians in Gaza, and to work hard to achieve a just and comprehensive peace for the Palestinian issue in a radical and final manner.” .
Sheikh Tamim affirmed the firm position of the State of Qatar on the Palestinian issue and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to establish an independent Palestinian state.
He also expressed Qatar’s condemnation of “all violations of the Palestinian people, their lands, and their sanctities, which undermine reaching a just solution to the issue.”

For his part, the King of Jordan called during the meeting for the international community to take action to pressure for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, according to what the Jordanian Royal Court said.
The Jordanian King warned of the expansion of the cycle of violence to other areas in the region.
He stressed that “a military or security solution to the Palestinian issue will not succeed,” and that what is required is a political solution to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
Qatar is currently leading mediation efforts to end the Israeli war on Gaza strip. Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari expressed his optimism about the success of the mediation in “reducing the escalation and protecting civilians in Gaza.”
He said yesterday that Qatar realizes, however, “that the complexities on the ground are very large and make our work difficult, but the channels of communication are open and communications are ongoing with all parties concerned.”
