The Emir of Qatar wrote on his account in “Instagram”, saying: “Today I witnessed the operetta of the National Service, and we remembered in it the 30th anniversary of the battle to liberate Khafji, and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers who participated in embodying the meaning of brotherhood and solidarity.”
Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, attended the National Service Academy theater, “The National Service Operetta”, which included honoring the officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the Qatari Armed Forces who participated in the war of liberation of Kuwait and the battle to liberate Al-Khafji on the occasion of its 30th anniversary.
On this occasion, the Emir of Qatar honored “Ali bin Saeed Al Khayarin, commander of the Qatari forces that participated in the liberation of Al-Khafji, by giving him Saif Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Al-Askari for his role in the battle to liberate Al-Khafji.”
The Emir of the country also ordered that “2995 persons who participated in the war of liberation of Kuwait be awarded the medal of military operations.”
It is noteworthy that this military medal is granted “to those who participate in military operations, who are members of the military authorities or the forces of other countries, and who is distinguished by the type of military operation.”
In addition, “all 1,450 who participated in the battle to liberate Al-Khafji,” will be awarded the Medal of Courage. This medal is usually given to anyone who performs acts of valor, sacrifice, or courage.
