French Health Minister Olivier Ferrand said today, Tuesday, in an interview with the local TV, France Info, that the outbreak of the epidemic in his country is “stable at a high level.”
He explained that “3 weeks have passed since an average of 20 thousand new infections were recorded per day, and 3 weeks after receiving an average of 1500 injured patients per day in the hospital, and 3 weeks in which between 3000 to 3200 patients are in intensive care,” which confirms the stability of the disease spread even at a high level .
The minister added that this stability proves that President Macron was right when he made the decision not to complete the closure two weeks ago, as last spring. In his opinion, it is possible that France will not be forced again to complete a lockdown “while remaining in a very high state of caution,” as he put it, with intensive follow-up and “daily analysis of infection and hospitalization numbers.”
The latest outcome of the epidemic in France confirms that hospitals are currently taking care of about 28,000 corona plagues, of whom about 3,300 are in intensive care, according to the French radio channel “Europe 1”. On the other hand, the total number of deaths from the epidemic since its inception has reached 79,423, at a time when the vaccination campaign is advancing, registering more than 2.2 million vaccines across the country, according to what the French Ministry of Health announced on Monday.

Meanwhile, it was decided to close one of the schools in the suburb of Val d’Oise, north of Paris, after calling on school health experts to close educational institutions for a period of 4 weeks. Otherwise, the government will be forced to take longer, harsh and complex measures in the near future. This comes after the emergence of several new infections at the “Jules Ferry” school in this Parisian suburb, including two infections with the South African mutated virus, which were closed until March 1 at the earliest.
On the other hand, local media said that 37 percent of the infections currently recorded in Paris and its suburbs are infected with the British mutated virus.
