Frankfurt (Germany), March 28 (.).- The euro rose on Tuesday and exceeded 1.08 dollars due to the détente in the banking sector, although it lost some positions after the publication of some data on the US economy and the opening negative on Wall Street, which boosted the demand for dollars.
The euro was trading around 3:00 p.m. GMT at $1.0833, compared to $1.0778 in the final hours of European currency market trading the previous day.
The European Central Bank (ECB) set the reference exchange rate for the euro at $1.0841.
Consumer confidence rose in the US in March despite inflation and the strength of the labor market, but real estate market prices fell in January compared to the previous month, for the seventh consecutive month, due to the rise in interest rates.
The single currency was exchanged in a fluctuation band between 1.0804 and 1.0846 dollars.
