The euro was trading at around 16.00 GMT at $ 1.1445, compared to $ 1.1470 in the last hours of the European currency market trading the previous day.
The European Central Bank (ECB) set the benchmark exchange rate for the euro at $ 1.1448.
Consumer confidence in the US fell to its lowest in 10 years in November due to rising inflation.
The University of Michigan Business Confidence Index fell 4.9 points to 66.8 points in November from the previous month, the lowest since November 2011.
Industrial production fell 0.2% in the eurozone countries during the month of September.
The single currency was exchanged in a fluctuation band between 1.1433 and 1.1462 dollars.
