The spokesman for the European Union Commission, Eric Mamer, announced that the doors in the Union are not closed to the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine against the Corona virus.
“The doors are not closed forever, it all depends on the circumstances. The problem is that vaccines are necessary now,” Mamer said during a press conference in Brussels today.
Mamer’s statement came, commenting on the words of the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, earlier, in which he said that the European Union does not need the Russian vaccine.
In the same context, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Alexander Grushko, said earlier today that the European Union institutions are clearly ignoring the Russian vaccine, and directing a campaign of disinformation and discrimination against it.
“We see continuous attempts to prevent the use of Sputnik V on the territory of the European Union,” Groshko added.
