British Captain Tom Moore, a warrior who fought in World War II and became a national hero after collecting millions of pounds to support the health care system, was hospitalized after contracting Covid-19.
His daughter Hana said on Twitter: “I would like to inform everyone today that my father has been taken to the hospital.”
She added, “He was being treated for the past few weeks of pneumonia, and last week it was confirmed that he had Covid-19.”
And she continued, “He was with us at home until yesterday when I needed additional help with breathing,” confirming that he is receiving treatment in a ward and not in an intensive care unit.
Captain Tom Moore became a national hero in Britain after raising more than $ 40 million for health workers ahead of his 100th birthday, and Queen Elizabeth awarded him the Equestrian Medal.
Moore raised a record amount for the NHS by completing it after painstakingly 100 laps around his lawn with the help of a walker in April.
