Naglaa Al-Manqoush took over the duties of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the unity government, from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Al-Wefaq Muhammad Sayala, in the presence of the Ministry’s undersecretaries and a number of directors of departments and sections.
On Monday, Al-Manqoush was sworn in before the House of Representatives, becoming the first Libyan woman to hold the foreign affairs portfolio and the fourth in the Arab region, where the first was Mauritanian Al-Naha Bint Hamdi Ould Meknes from 2009 to 2011, and the second was Mauritanian Fatima Fal Bint Aswaina, and the third is the Sudanese Asma Muhammad Abdullah .

Earlier today, a ceremony to hand over and hand over power from the Government of National Accord to the Government of National Unity took place, in the presence of the President of the Presidential Council of the Unity Government, Muhammad Al-Manfi, Prime Minister Abdel-Hamid Al-Dabaiba, former Presidential Council Chairman Fayez Al-Sarraj, and former Minister of Interior Fathi Bashagha.
