The commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Major General Hossein Salami Today Wednesday, a message to the head of the political bureau For Hamas movement Yahya Sinwar.
The message came a day after Sinwar was chosen to lead Hamas's political bureau, succeeding To Ismail Haniyeh Who was martyred a week ago in an assassination operation in Tehran that the Iranian government attributed to Israel.
Major General Salami said, “The election of Sinwar as head of Hamas greatly worried the Zionist enemy and its supporters.”
He added that this indicates that the banner of resistance and jihad will not fall, and the path of resistance will continue with strength.
In his message to Sinwar, the head of the Revolutionary Guards stressed that Iran will spare no effort in continuing to support Hamas and the rest of the resistance factions.
Hamas announced yesterday, Tuesday, in a brief statement, “the selection of leader Yahya Sinwar as head of the movement's political bureau, succeeding the martyr leader Ismail Haniyeh, may God have mercy on him.”
A special source told Al Jazeera Net that Sinwar was chosen unanimously through the voting mechanisms followed within the movement.
Nature of the stage
For his part, Hamas leader Osama Hamdan said during an interview with Al Jazeera that choosing Sinwar “indicates that the movement understands the nature of the stage.”
Hamdan explained that Sinwar's advancement in many positions within the movement since his youth made him qualified to lead it at this stage, noting that he will have a team in the movement's leadership around him to help and support him.
He continued, “Despite all the suffering of our people, the terrorism practiced by the occupation, and the daily massacres committed against our people, this movement is still steadfast in the field and is still steadfast in politics.”
It is noteworthy that Iran has pledged to strike Israel in response to the assassination of Haniyeh, which has put the entire region on alert and anticipation.
Lebanon's Hezbollah, an ally of Iran and Hamas, has also vowed to respond to Haniyeh's assassination and avenge the killing of its military commander, Fouad Shukr, in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut's southern suburbs.
