A wanted thief who specializes in stealing the luxury homes of celebrities and football stars admitted to stealing Cristiano Ronaldo’s house, and revealed the secret of his refusal to rob Lionel Messi’s palace in Barcelona, and even prevented other gangs from storming it in the absence of the Argentine star.
This came in an exciting interview on the podcast of Spanish journalist Carlos Quilez with the thief, whom he referred to as “Alberto,” in which he said that he had been stealing houses for 20 years until he led a gang of 100 thieves.
Alberto admitted to stealing 20,000 euros in November 2021 from a house that he discovered after breaking into it belonged to the late Dutch star Johan Cruyff, the Spanish Barcelona legend, through pictures of him that were hanging on the walls and a wristwatch belonging to his compatriot Dennis Bergkamp.

The celebrity thief also admitted to robbing the home of Portuguese star Ronaldo in his hometown on the island of Madeira in 2020, “but the stolen items were not interesting,” as well as robbing the home of French star Karim Benzema in Spain.
The thief explains that he was offered more than a year ago to rob Messi’s family mansion in Barcelona when the Argentine star was residing in Paris and playing for the French team Saint-Germain, but he refused and even prevented other thieves from robbing his house, saying, “I did it and I am proud out of respect for Messi because I love him.” .
But he distanced himself from the burglary of the home of Spanish star Sergio Ramos – the last star whose home was robbed – saying, “He knows very well who robbed him.”
Alberto revealed how he and his gang work, saying that he locates the victim, collects information about him, and follows him continuously for a period that may last several months, to ensure that no one is inside during the robbery. He explained that social media networks are the number one enemy of celebrities, because they greatly facilitate the work of thieves. Through the photos and videos they post.
