The Atlanta Hawks have exercised the fourth-year team options present on De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish’s rookie contracts, in addition to the same third-year option from Onyeka Okongwu’s contract, as has announced the organization itself.
All three players are under contract on a guaranteed basis for next season. In addition, exercising these clauses will ensure their presence in the team also during the 2022-23 academic year. His salary by then will amount to 5.9 million (Reddish), 6.4 million (Okongwu) and 9.8 million (Hunter).
Hunter, Reddish, and Okongwu make up an important part of young core of the Hawks although they have had to deal with various injuries during the last season. Okongwu himself will miss the first months of the season due to a shoulder injury.
With their options exercised, Hunter and Reddish will become free agents in the summer of 2023 if they do not accept the qualified offers contained in their respective contracts.
