Today, Wednesday, the World Health Ministry announced that it recorded about 96,000 deaths from Coronavirus “Covid-19” infection in the world during the past week, which represents a record level for this indicator.

The organization stated, in a new week’s report published on its website, that the number of recorded infections with the Coronavirus in the world during the period from 18 to 24 January increased by 4104947, bringing the total to the level of 98280844 cases.
The organization indicated that this increase is 15% less than the previous weekly toll, which amounted to 4725029 cases.
The North and South Americas region is the first in terms of the number of new infections, as it recorded 2,127,479 cases, followed by Europe with 1382,460 cases.
The largest number of new infections was recorded in the United States, where more than 1.25 million cases were monitored, followed by Brazil with about 360,000 cases, and Britain ranks third with more than 260,000 cases.
The organization stated that the general death toll from the virus in the world increased from 18 to 24 January by 95,991 cases, to reach the level of 2112759.
The organization stated that this increase is more than 1% compared to the previous weekly toll, which amounted to 93,882 cases.
45,349 new deaths were recorded in the North and South Americas region, and 38,349 cases in Europe.
The United States is the first in the world in terms of the number of new deaths with 21,583 cases, followed by Britain with 8,739 deaths, and Mexico is ranked third with 8,592 cases.
