A spokesman for the Houthi “Ansar Allah” movement, Muhammad Abdul Salam, called for taking practical steps to stop the war in Yemen, noting that the US position has not achieved any progress on the ground.
And Abdul Salam said in a statement: “The American position has not gone beyond the limits of rhetoric, and so far we have not noticed any actual progress, and the American rhetoric is still changing until now.”
He added, “The blockade is imposed by American capabilities, and we cannot be deceived by any shiny words that have no truth.”
He continued: “The war on our country must stop by going to implementation on the ground, not just by words, and the forces of aggression have failed politically and militarily and fell humanly.”
And Abizaid: “There is no real move to stop the war and lift the siege, and the military option has been imposed on us, and we have always demanded peaceful options, and we were surprised by the announcement of this war by Washington.”
And he considered “the true peaceful options are stopping the aggression (referring to the coalition operations), not prolonging it, and the other side (the legitimate government) wants to keep the war, not end it,” accusing the coalition of “not accepting peaceful options.”
And he considered that “what is happening in Marib is not the result of the moment, and it has been a burning front since the beginning of the aggression, and a basic military zone for the forces of aggression since the beginning of the war, and what is happening today is the correct position to repel foreign forces.”
And he added, “The aggression took place with an external coalition and was not satisfied with bombing and siege, but rather occupied areas and made them a starting point for military operations, such as the Ma’rib governorate.”
He stated that the coalition “used Marib to attack Sanaa, Al-Jawf and Al-Bayda, and made it a starting point for its military operations,” stressing that “confronting this aggression is a fundamental issue that will continue.”
He said, “The battle for Ma’rib is a response to the escalation, and international discourse that depicts the battle of Marib as an attack means our demand not to defend ourselves and leave the Takfirist recruitment centers to operate with their freedom.”
