In Sacramento they savor a scenario as familiar as it is disappointing: the limbo of basketball. For the umpteenth year in a row, the Kings are bad enough not to be a real threat to the eighth spot in the Western Conference, but not bad enough to qualify for one of the picks highest in the next draft.
Not even the creation of the successful play-in has allowed the Kings to enjoy the opportunity to fight for the playoffs. They currently occupy the 13th position in the West, three games behind the Blazers, tenth classified and where they also they cook beans.
However, the directive does not even want to hear about tanking. In fact, the pieces available in the locker room invite us to think of higher levels than those currently considered, although later the results do not accompany: eight losses in the last ten games, including a monumental beating at the hands of the Boston Celtics, a team which is not going through its best moment either.
