The Central Agency for Statistics and Public Mobilization in Egypt said that the inflation rate in the country witnessed during the year 2020 a decline to a level of 5.1% compared to the year 2019, when it reached 6.8%.
Meanwhile, the monthly inflation rate for last December decreased by 5% compared to November.
The Egyptian Statistical Authority considered the inflation rate recorded during the year 2020 the lowest in years, and that it was achieved due to the low prices of foodstuffs, such as milk, fish, vegetables and meat, as well as ready-made clothes.
