A government source told RT, “The Council of Ministers has set the tenth of October as the date for early elections instead of the sixth of June.”
Recently, the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq suggested postponing the date of early elections scheduled for June 6, until October 16.
A few days ago, the presidencies in Iraq (the Republic – Ministers – Parliament – the Judiciary) met to discuss preparations for early elections, which Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi had set on June 6.
Earlier, the leader of the Sadrist movement in Iraq, Muqtada al-Sadr, warned of postponing early elections, and called on citizens to update their electoral records.
