On Saturday, the Iraqi Minister of Culture and government spokesman, Hassan Nazim, affirmed the government’s desire for international monitoring of the elections to ensure their fairness.
The minister said during a press conference, “The government has serious interest in the issue of elections, and is willing to monitor seriously internationally to ensure its integrity.”
Earlier, Abdul-Hussein Al-Hindawi, the advisor to the Iraqi prime minister, for election affairs, confirmed that there was no reason to postpone the date of early elections scheduled for June 6, 2021.
Earlier, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, stressed his government’s determination to proceed with the success of early elections, which are scheduled to take place on the sixth of next June.
