RT obtained a document issued by the office of the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, indicating the start of the trial of the former deputy director of Najaf Airport on charges of corruption.
The document issued by the committee formed by Al-Kazemi to combat corruption refers to a notification from the Prime Minister’s office to the Najaf Investment Authority informing it of the trial date of Jawad Abdul-Kadhim Alwan, known as Abu Aktham al-Karawi, deputy director of Najaf airport.
Last September, an Iraqi security force arrested Alwan, a former official at Najaf International Airport, on charges of corruption.
Earlier, the Integrity Commission in Iraq revealed that it was able to control cases of waste of public money worth 600 million dinars (approximately 450 thousand US dollars), in one of the projects of the Najaf Governorate airport in the south of the country.
