An advertisement for “male-only” jobs in Saudi Arabia sparked an uproar on social media.
Ahlia Foundation published an advertisement for jobs for men only, through its account on the “Twitter” website, the required qualification, “Bachelor of Management and Marketing – Diploma in Social Service,” and experience in project management and community programs.
It seems that the advertisement did not meet with the approval of many people, as it shows discrimination between women and men in jobs in the Kingdom.
The advertisement is contrary to Article 3 of the Labor Law.
Work is a citizen’s right, and no one may exercise it except after fulfilling the conditions stipulated in the system, and citizens are equal in the right to work without any discrimination on the basis of gender or any other form of discrimination, whether during the performance of work or upon employment or advertising.

In the meantime, one of the follow-ups asked the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development about the ministry’s opinion on the matter, and the ministry’s account responded that “the advertisement contravenes Article Three of the Labor Law,” so that the Foundation subsequently deleted its announcement.
The ministry indicated that “work is a citizen’s right, and it is not permissible for others to practice it except after fulfilling the conditions stipulated in the system. Or advertise it. “
