Madrid, Aug 11 (.).- The Spanish transactional market -mergers and acquisitions- registered 1,597 operations for an amount of 69,794 million euros, which represents a year-on-year drop of 13% both in the number of operations and in the aggregate amount from the same.
According to the quarterly report published this Thursday by the consulting firm TTR, in July alone there were 239 mergers and acquisitions, between those announced and those effectively closed, for an amount of approximately 24,756 million euros.
In the annual accumulated figure, 205 private capital or “private equity” operations are recorded for a value of 35,521 million, which implies an increase of 21% in the number of transactions and an increase of 83% in the amount compared to the same period of the year past.
“Venture capital”, as the highest-risk private capital operations are known, registered 357 operations worth 3,764 million, which represents a 17% decrease in the number of transactions and in their amount.
As for the segment of “asset acquisitions”, (purchase of assets of a company) until July, 482 transactions were registered for a value of 11,196 million euros, 2% more than a year earlier in the number of operations and 21% in the amount of these.
In sectoral terms, real estate was the most active of the year with a total of 392 transactions, 42% more than the accumulated until July 2021, followed by internet and digital services, which fell 14% and accumulated 196 so far. operations.
