The exchange rate ended this day at the level of 19.4065 units per greenback compared to yesterday’s record of 19.4205 units, with official data from the Bank of Mexico (Banxico). That meant a gain of 1.4 cents for the peso.
The Dollar Index (DXY), which compares the greenback with a basket of six strong reference currencies, fell 0.46% to 103.98 points at the close.
The penultimate business day of 2022 was marked by the disclosure of data on weekly unemployment aid applications in the United States that was in line with market estimates.
