During a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani expressed Qatar’s deep concern over the military escalation and its repercussions.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry said that the Qatari minister stressed to his Ukrainian counterpart the need to ensure the safety of civilians and consider this a top priority in dealing with the crisis. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman also called for avoiding an exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis, which requires urgent concerted efforts to reach a peaceful solution.

For his part, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said – in a tweet on Twitter – that he expressed, in a call with my Qatari counterpart, his gratitude to the State of Qatar, for its participation in sponsoring the United Nations General Assembly resolution, and for providing Ukraine with humanitarian aid. He explained that he discussed with him international efforts to increase political and economic pressure on Russia.
