One match suspension. That is the punishment the NBA has handed down to Grayson Allen for his harsh foul on Alex Caruso, who was punished during the game with a flagrant type 2 that caused a broken wrist to the guard Chicago, who will be out for 6-8 weeks.
The reason given by the League to fine the Milwaukee player in this way is “unnecessary and excessive contact” when committing the foul on the rival. The Wisconsin franchise does not agree with the decision made regarding its player.
“We do not agree with the suspension. We support Grayson and hope he rejoins our team for Friday’s game against New York,” they commented in a statement after learning that he will not be able to play Wednesday against Cleveland.
Questioned by this situation and the action that has led to it, Billy Donovan, head coach of the Bulls, understands that the best thing they can do is focus on basketball. “Nothing has changed from what happened the other night to now, and the best thing we can do as a team is move on. That’s really the only thing we have control over. I feel bad for Alex because he’s going to be gone for a long time; that’s what makes me feel worse.”
The flagrant foul called on him Friday was the first he received against Allen all season, and only the second in his NBA career.
