The Israeli occupation army continues to target health facilities in Gaza stripThe Israeli bombing of the Indonesian Hospital and Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip continued, leaving 12 martyrs and wounded, including a doctor.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said that the occupation forces imposed a siege on the Indonesian hospital, which houses about seven hundred medical personnel and the wounded, in addition to those displaced there, and warned against repeating what the occupation did. Al-Shifa Medical Complex there.
The government media office in Gaza also warned that the occupation would commit a new massacre in the Indonesian hospital against medical staff, patients, wounded, and displaced persons trapped inside it.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the death of 12 of the wounded and their companions as a result of the Israeli bombing of the Indonesian hospital, and many injuries, while an Al Jazeera correspondent reported that a doctor working at the hospital was among the injured.
For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ targeting of the Indonesian hospital, and said that the occupation’s bombing and siege of the hospital is a crime that requires international intervention to protect the last health institution operating in northern Gaza.
Tanks surround the hospital
The Palestinian Ministry of Health warned in a statement, “The Israeli occupation forces are placing thousands of wounded, medical personnel, and displaced persons in the cycle of death, as a result of the direct and repeated targeting of the Indonesian hospital.”
Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that the occupation forces target anyone who tries to leave the Indonesian hospital with direct fire, and he confirmed that the hospital had lost electricity after its generators stopped working as a result of the Israeli bombing.
Pictures showed Israeli occupation tanks advancing around the Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza. Al Jazeera’s correspondent said that Israeli tanks were deployed around the Indonesian hospital and were firing toward the hospital building.
Press sources told Al Jazeera that hundreds of displaced people fled from the vicinity of the Indonesian Hospital and Sheikh Zayed City after Israeli military vehicles advanced towards the vicinity of the hospital.
Israeli forces surround the hospital with dozens of heavy military vehicles and artillery, in an area of less than one kilometre, and deploy snipers on the rooftops of buildings near it, preventing ambulances from arriving to the hospital to transport the wounded, as it is the only partially functioning hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.
“The occupation forces execute the wounded”
For his part, the spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, Ashraf Al-Qudra, said that the Israeli occupation is seeking to put the Indonesian hospital completely out of service. Al-Qudra confirmed in a statement he made to Al Jazeera that the medical staff at the Indonesian hospital insist on staying to treat the wounded.
In a statement he made to Al Jazeera on Monday morning, the Director General of Hospitals in the Gaza Strip, Muhammad Al-Zaqout, said that there are thousands of displaced people and 200 medical staff inside the Indonesian hospital. He warned that any missile fired by the occupation would cause martyrs due to overcrowding in hospitals.
Zaqout said that the occupation is carrying out direct executions of the wounded and sick in hospitals. He added, “We asked the World Health Organization to evacuate the patients, but the occupation did not respond.” He also confirmed the presence of 260 wounded in the Al-Shifa Complex, and said that at least one wounded person dies every day.
“Human shields with healing”
This comes while a medical official at Al-Shifa Hospital said that the occupation is detaining more than 200 patients and medical staff, and using them as human shields.
A state of uncertainty prevails over the current situation in Al-Shifa Hospital after the Israeli occupation forces re-stormed it, destroyed its facilities, bulldozed its courtyards, and completely isolated it from the world due to a power and Internet outage.
The occupation forces have been controlling Al-Shifa Hospital for days, and have expelled the medical staff and displaced people from it, after a stifling siege and targeting that led to the death of many injured, displaced people, and the hospital’s medical staff.
