French media reported that elderly Lucille Randon recovered from the Corona virus, days before her 117th birthday, which falls on February 11.
And the media indicate that the woman was confirmed to be infected with the Coronavirus on January 16. The woman, who lives in a nursing home in Toulon, southern France, was exposed to the infection without showing symptoms.
Randon said she did not feel infected with the virus, and that what she suffered most during the quarantine period was isolation.
The director of the care home stated that she was not afraid of the disease, but rather was worried about other people in the home, noting that 80 people were confirmed infected in the care home, and 10 of them had died from the virus.
Doctors assured Randon’s life was not threatened.
Reports indicate that Lucille Randon was born on February 11, 1904, and became a nun at the age of 41, and worked in a hospital in the French city of Vichy, where she helped orphans and the elderly during 28 years. Randon has lived in a nursing home in Toulon since 2009.
Randon is considered the oldest woman in France and Europe.
