Media around the world drew attention to the coat that Russian President Vladimir Putin appeared during a vacation with Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu to Tuva, near Siberia.
There were questions about the distinctive dress that Putin wore, its cost and who designed it, and most importantly, many asked: Where can it be bought? The answer came from an unexpected place, in Saint Petersburg, the Russian president’s birthplace.
In a small workshop, four years ago, a design for a sheepskin coat, very similar to the coat that Putin appeared in, was invented.
And the operator’s owner, Evgenia Morozova, admitted that she could not confirm that the President’s sheepskin suit was produced by her laboratory, but confirmed that the design was invented in her workshop.
The lady stressed that the image of this suit did not appear anywhere else before, and that the uniform was designed in this workshop, which employs only two people, its manager who is a mother of two children, aged 40 years and her assistant.
Evgenia said that the great interest in the costume surprised them, noting that she had not received many calls over a year, as was the case in the past two days.
The operator’s director stated that she would be very happy if it was confirmed that the suit in which the Russian president appeared was produced by her operator, adding that, in addition, if she knew that she was sewing a suit for the president, her hands would have trembled.
The owner of the operator described the great demand to reserve suits similar to Putin’s suit as a kind of storm, noting that requests are coming from everywhere, from Moscow and Kaliningrad to the Baltic countries and Vladivostok, and even that a call came from Italy from someone who wanted to go on vacation to the Alps.
