“Pentagon” spokeswoman Jessica McNulty confirmed that the ministry is aware of what “Times” published about the theft of the “Pantsir-C1” Russian-made air defense system in Libya, and its transfer to American forces.
She said, “We are aware of what was published by the British” Times “newspaper, without confirming or denying this information.
She indicated that “the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can provide more data about Washington’s policy towards Libya.”
The British “Times” newspaper published an article alleging that the “Pantsir” system was stolen during the fighting in Libya, and was secretly delivered to the American Ramstein air base in Germany.
According to the newspaper’s sources, “The UAE bought these systems from Russia, then delivered some of them to the Libyan National Army.”
There was no official comment from the Russian side on this news.
