In a press statement, Major General Abu Bakr called on the media to be careful and cautious in dealing with any information related to the prisoners, noting that what was published in this regard since this morning is inaccurate, and it violates all the humanitarian, patriotic and militant ethics of the Palestinian people.
He said, “We reject all spontaneous behaviors, and dealt with any information related to our prisoners inside the occupation prisons except from their official sources, specifically from the authority and institutions working directly on this issue.”
He explained that the Israeli authorities transferred the elderly prisoner of Shobaki (82 years) last Wednesday to the Preventive Quarantine Department in an Israeli prison, after contacting the prisoner, who drives the so-called “Bosta” vehicle, and who was later found infected with the Coronavirus.
He added that the prison administration was intending to transfer al-Shobaki to an Israeli hospital for an eye operation, and while he was being transported inside a “bosta vehicle”, the jailer was mixed with that, a sample was taken from him, and subjected to precaution.
It is noteworthy that the prisoner of Shobaki is the oldest detainee in Israeli prisons. He is from the Gaza Strip and has been detained since 2006 and is sentenced to 17 years in prison.
