This morning, from “Baikonur” space airport, a “Soyuz-2” missile was launched, carrying the Progress MS-16 spacecraft on board.
The cargo vehicle carries, to the Russian section of the International Space Station, stocks of foodstuffs, as well as materials to fill the station’s mooring site.
The Russian Space Corporation “Ross Cosmos” stated that this is the second Russian space launch this year, and the first from “Baikonur”.
The launch of the carrier missile was carried out at 7:45 Moscow time.
Progress’s trip to the International Space Station will take two days. The vehicle is expected to dock with the “Pier” section of the station, at 9.20 hours on February 17th.
