Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that more than 39 trillion rubles (about $ 520 billion) will be allocated over the next three years to implement the national plan, which is a comprehensive development plan.
Mishustin’s statement came during a joint meeting held today by the State Council and the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects in Russia, chaired by President Vladimir Putin.
This is the first meeting of the Russian State Council after the approval of the new composition, and the Council is chaired by the Russian President, and 18 committees are working in its structure to achieve social and economic development.
With regard to the national plan, which includes a set of development projects that the Russian government plans to implement in the coming years, Mishustin said that a lot of work has been carried out when preparing the plan, as 25 interdepartmental working groups have been formed in the National Projects Center, and all have been audited. Mishustin called on the council to approve the submitted plan to begin implementing it from the beginning of the next world (2021). He added that the plan defines the area of responsibility of each ministry, department and regional authority.
The national plan was approved in February 2019, at that time, its value was estimated at 25.7 trillion rubles, and it was planned to implement it until 2024, but in light of the changes that hit the global economy in 2020, including the Corona crisis, it was decided to make adjustments to the period of its implementation.
In May 2020, Putin called for expanding the horizon of planning for national goals and projects until 2030, by which time the poverty level in Russia must be halved compared to 2017, and sustainable growth in citizens’ incomes and GDP growth rates must be ensured.
