The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian Naval War Fleet is preparing to receive a modern combat submarine powered by diesel and electricity.
A statement issued by the service said, “The crew of the Magadan submarine that Russia is showing in the framework of the government project 636.3 is currently undergoing training at the Obninsk Center of the Navy of the Russian Army, the current training course for the crew is supposed to be concluded at the end of next April, during which its personnel will be trained to deal with basic equipment. For the submarine to ensure that it is tested after its development is completed. “
“The crew members are being trained according to a special program that takes into account the new developments in building submarines of Project 636.3, and during the exercises, the latest technical equipment is used,” the statement added.
Russia had begun developing the aforementioned submarine in November 2019 for the benefit of the Pacific Fleet forces in its army, and according to the latest information, the submarine landing in the water is supposed to take place as part of an official ceremony on March 27.

The submarines that Russia is developing within the framework of the government project No. 636.3 are multi-mission submarines operating on diesel and electricity, and have excellent capabilities in concealing the enemy’s radars.
These submarines have a length of 73 meters and a width of 10 meters, and they can sail at a speed of 20 knots and dive to a depth of 300 meters underwater. They are also armed with systems to launch 533 mm torpedoes and Russian “Kalibr” missile systems.
