Sao Paulo, May 13 (.).- The Sao Paulo Stock Exchange chained its third consecutive rise this Friday and appreciated by 1.17%, with its index, a benchmark for the parquet, advancing to 106,924 points at the close of the day, encouraged by the airlines.
After a week marked by high volatility, the São Paulo ring managed to reverse the negative sign and accumulated, in the five days, a rise of 1.70%.
The good performance of the air and tourism sector was one of the main factors for the green closing of the Brazilian market in today’s session, in which the state oil company Petrobras (NYSE:) also stood out.
The largest company in Brazil, whose assets were the most traded, closed the day with a rise of 1.30% in its preferred shares and 0.14% in common shares.
In addition, two of the three main airlines in the country (Gol and Azul) were among the largest gains of the day, although it was the ordinary titles of the educational group YDUQS that topped the list, with an expressive increase of 12.11%.
While Gol’s preferred titles gained 11.79%, Azul’s preferred titles were valued 10.65% at the close of the session.
At the other extreme, the ordinary papers of the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange itself, known as B3, were the ones that lost the most value this Friday, yielding 3.61%.
Likewise, the ordinary shares of the Cogna educational group, which fell 2.30%, the ordinary shares of the Raia Drogasil pharmacy network (-1.91%) and the ordinary shares of Telefónica Brasil (-1.91%) ended the trading session in terms of losses. SA:) (-1.36%).
The volume of business on the Sao Paulo stock market reached 27,082 million reais (about 5,355 million dollars) this Friday, as a result of 3,814,516 financial operations.
In the foreign exchange market, the US dollar depreciated 1.61% against the Brazilian real and ended the day trading at 5,056 reais for purchase and 5,057 reais for sale at the commercial exchange rate.
In the five days of the week, the greenback accumulated a drop of 0.09% against the Brazilian currency.
